(Re)Claiming Your Spiritual Life
A seven-week course of study with Dr. Karen Grayson
Consecutive Tuesdays, 6:30-9pm, beginning September 13, 2016
Center for Spiritual Living, Creve Coeur, MO
Drawing on Jonathan Ellerby’s 12-pathway model of spiritual practice as outlined in his book Return to the Sacred: Ancient Pathways to Spiritual Awakening, we will consider new ways to engage in an intentional spiritual life. Join like-minded explorers in a non-judgmental, creative environment of crafting, honing, discovering, or rediscovering that which feels sacred to you.
This class is designed as a jump-start for a deeper sense of your own spiritual life. Teaching methods will be varied: short lectures lasting 20 minutes or less, individual writing, pair dialogues, and space for contemplation will fill out each class session. Sometimes we will watch short videos; sometimes we will make art.
You are always invited to participate fully and share your ideas. You are never required to do anything that doesn't feel real and helpful to you. This class is for you; your needs and approaches to spiritual growth will be honored in each class.
Everyone has a unique path. Some people use the structures of formal religion in order to help them progress. Others carve out a spiritual path individually. The rest of us? Well, we mostly just stumble along, sometimes catching a glimpse of The Infinite or feeling a spiritual pull, other times racked with confusion, cynicism, or despair. if this is how it goes for you, welcome to our community! The spiritual path is seldom smooth and always empowering.
Cost: $225-350, sliding scale. The cost includes seven weeks of facilitated experiential learning, access to a resource-rich members-only website, and a 60-minute individual coaching session with Karen.
Please buy Ellerby's book for this class. Reading assignments will be given along the way.
